Why We Exist

Mental Health. Mindset. Culture.

Under The Brim exists to change how teams, schools, and communities talk about mental health. Through honest conversations about mental health, addiction, identity, and resilience, we share the principles that transformed one life — and have the power to transform others.

We partner with schools, athletic programs, businesses, and communities to replace:

What We Believe

True mental performance begins with mental health.

Before we can perform at our highest level — as athletes, students, leaders, employees, or parents — we must first understand ourselves, confront what we're carrying, and build a foundation of emotional well-being.

Confidence, resilience, discipline, and high performance are not created by ignoring our struggles — they're built by working through them.

Because what's happening under the brim is often far more important than what the world sees on the outside. When we have the courage to address what lies beneath the surface, we don't just survive — we unlock our greatest potential to live, lead, and serve others.

The Talks

Honest conversations, not lectures.

Every talk is built on lived experience — real stories, real struggle, and the real principles that made recovery and growth possible. No scripts, no clichés. Just the conversation your team, school, or organization actually needs.

01

Mental Health

Naming what we carry, breaking the silence, and learning that asking for help is a strength — not the opposite of toughness.

02

Addiction

An unfiltered look at addiction and recovery — how it starts, how it hides, and what the road back really looks like.

03

Identity

You are a person who plays a sport — not a sport that happens to be a person. Building a self-worth that survives the box score.

04

Resilience

Failure is information, not identity. Turning setbacks, slumps, and losses into the foundation for durable confidence.

What Coaches Say

Hear it from the coaches.

Real letters from the programs we’ve worked with — in their own words.

“…one of the most impactful experiences we had as a team leading into the 2026 season.”

“When things became difficult, our guys had a framework for handling adversity. When we needed to hold one another accountable, his message gave us common language.”

Having Kevin Schneider speak to our Ursinus Baseball program through his Under The Brim presentation message was one of the most impactful experiences we had as a team leading into the 2026 season.

Kevin has a unique ability to connect with student-athletes in a way that is authentic, challenging, and immediately applicable. His message went well beyond baseball. He challenged our players to understand who they are, what they stand for, how they respond to adversity, and—most importantly—what they are willing to do for the people sitting next to them. Kevin’s ability to be open and speak transparently about his life experiences and being able to tie it back to baseball and its ability to teach life skills was second to none.

Throughout the 2026 season, we found ourselves coming back to many of the themes Kevin introduced. When things became difficult, our guys had a framework for handling adversity. When we needed to hold one another accountable, his message gave us common language. And when we had opportunities to put the team ahead of ourselves, our players understood what that actually looked like.

That showed up in the way our team competed. We reached the Centennial Conference Championship, earned our first postseason appearance since 2017, and recorded the program’s highest win total in a decade. But what stood out to me even more was how our team accomplished those things—the resilience, connectedness, belief, willingness to compete for one another, and accepting each individual’s challenge with a support staff of a village. Life’s battles are not meant to take on individually, but with the support of brothers and family members.

As coaches, we are constantly searching for ways to make the lessons we teach every day resonate differently with our players. Kevin did exactly that. He reinforced many of the values we want Ursinus Baseball to represent, but delivered them through his own experiences and perspective in a way that stuck with our guys. Kevin was not afraid to be vulnerable and open about his personal life experiences and that really resonated with our club.

I would strongly recommend Kevin to any coach, team, or organization looking for someone who can genuinely connect with their people and challenge them to become better teammates, competitors, leaders, and most importantly, the best version of themself.

Also, shout out Willie… He’s the man 💪🧱

“Kevin’s message hit home in one way or another with all of us.”

“Under The Brim gave us the chance to reflect on how we can be better individuals, teammates, mentors and coaches.”

I want to thank Kevin, Will and Krish for coming to Hawk Hill and spending some time with our players and coaching staff. Kevin’s message hit home in one way or another with all of us.

We appreciate how he laid out the challenges that he has been confronted with and lived through. His adversities brought perspective and gave each of us the opportunity to reflect on our own hardships. Under The Brim gave us the chance to reflect on how we can be better individuals, teammates, mentors and coaches.

If you have the opportunity to spend some time with these guys, I highly recommend it.
